Part of our genealogy and heritage are the stories passed down from one generation to the next. We learn a lot more about our family from the generational stories than we ever will from finding the birth and death dates of an individual. One of the most crucial pieces of our history and the element that ties it all together are the accounts of actual historical events.
I remember as a child in the fifties sitting on my grandfather’s porch and hearing stories of exploits adventures and sometimes tragedy. I was a very active kid so I never made it completely through a story without being distracted, or my mind wondering. Still those times meant a lot to me in later years. I would like to share some of those stories with you on the following pages. I sincerely hope that you find the stories interesting and perhaps you will remember some of the accounts of your own history.
